Family Fest, held this past weekend, on the 1st and 2nd June 2024, in Wimborne, Dorset, proudly announces its successful fundraising effort, collecting £1,352.39 for Cherry Tree Nursery in Bournemouth going directly towards volunteers welfare within the charity.
The annual festival, known for bringing together families for a day of fun, music, and activities saw an impressive turnout this year with over 2500 attendees from both days as well as campers from Frida to Monday. Highlights included live music including The George Michael Experience, family entertainent including Urban Bikes with their BMX Stunt Bike Show, and Professor JR with Punch & Judy and Jays Magic Show, local food stalls, and a variety of crafts and items to buy from local businesses.
Cherry Tree Nursery, a local charity dedicated to supporting adults with mental health issues through horticultural therapy, will benefit directly from the funds raised helping towards the volunteers welfare, for example, travel to and from the Nursery. The charity provides meaningful work and a supportive community, helping individuals develop skills and confidence.
"We are thrilled with the support we received from the community," said Rob Batson, organizer of Family Fest 2024. "It's heartwarming to see so many families come together to enjoy the festival and contribute to such a worthy cause."
Cherry Tree Nursery representatives expressed their gratitude for the donation, emphasizing the impact it will have on their programs and services. Since 2021, Family Fest has raised over £3000 for the charity, with 2024 our biggest fundraising effort so far.
Family Fest extends a huge thank you to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors who made the event a success. Plans are already underway for Family Fest 2025, promising even more activities and entertainment for the whole family. Further details to be announced shortly.
